FIVE SIGNS OF GENIUS

Albert Einstein is probably my favorite of the Great Thinkers, perhaps because he simply looked helluva creative to begin with! Let’s face it, if I had any hair, it was going to be in that wild style of his…

I was working on a new idea yesterday when I went looking for some quotes and as I scanned pages and pages of famous sayings by Einstein, I suddenly began thinking about the deeper meanings of some of those cool one-liners and what inspiration they bring to me. Here is a quick look at some that might hit a chord with you too:

1. BE INTUITIVE

The intellect has little to do on the road to discovery. There comes a leap in consciousness, call it intuition or what you will, and the solution comes to you and you don’t know how or why.
– Albert Einstein

Sometimes it could pay off to be a little more irrational in your thinking. Often people can work a single idea to death, when they’re simply too close to it to make sense of it all. That’s when it’s best to step away from the problem and let your mind go for a while. Take a walk, look at the surroundings or listen to some music. And then, suddenly as if from nowhere, some fresh thought will inexplicably pop into your mind and probably be a better solution than you’ve had before.

2. BE CURIOUS

I have no special talent. I am only passionately curious.
– Albert Einstein

Although this may not be an entirely true assessment of his talent, Albert Einstein had a gift for connecting dots. For finding relationships between things that seemingly had no links; but when he fired those up, he changed the world!

3. BE DARING

Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.
– Albert Einstein

Tenacity and daring are two qualities I’ve recognized in most of the Great Thinkers. Einstein and Edison are probably top of the list. Thinking requires perseverance; more often than not, we cannot get the desired results as soon as we want it. You’ve got to keep trying…

4. THINK AT A HIGHER LEVEL

We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.
– Albert Einstein

Apple adopted this great direction: “Think Different”. This might take real effort and a lot of practice, and I’ve found it is where people often fall short by going with the obvious solution that presents itself. You have to dig a little deeper if you want breakthrough ideas.

5. USE YOUR IMAGINATION

Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.
– Albert Einstein

Talk about breakthrough! Where regular application of knowledge allows incremental improvement, leapfrogging occurs when you open the imagination up a little.

This is all only the proverbial tip of the iceberg. There is a lot more inspiration and insight to be tapped from this enigmatic genius. If you have a moment, be sure to check it out HERE. On a previous post, I mentioned some techniques Albert Einstein employed in his thinking, HERE.

Have a Super Day, as always!

  1. Imagine a world were everyone or at least 51% of the planet takes this approach to their daily lives.
Think the other 49% will feel the effect?
    You better believe it.
    Nice one Nic, nice one!

  2. That’s it, you’re getting and Einstein wig for your birthday! Nice one Nico, He was so ahead of his time with his thinking, though in the workings of the universe his timing was of-course perfect…

    1. Thank you! I was on a mission this morning to get back to source material because I have been falling around with more abstract and emotional posts recently. I even had one or two centered around Broadway – what was I thinking?
